After having been commissioned by the Carnival Committee and Governor John P. DeJongh, Jr. to create a piece of jewelry, commemorating the 60th anniversary of St. Thomas Carnival, the original United States Virgin Islands timepiece was created. Cardow wanted to create a watch that would incorporate the essence of three of our most popular local pastimes, fishing, sailing, and diving in the case of a fashionable timepiece. Each watch demonstrates in great detail the islands of St. Thomas, Water Island, St. John, and St. Croix. Often used as diplomatic gifts amongst our local and visiting politicians, the VI Pro Diver has become a significant part of the Virgin Islands’ current and recent history.
Equipped with a unilaterally rotating fluted bezel and a screw down crown, this watch can securely accompany you scuba diving at extreme depths or, simply, slowly swimming at the surface of Magens Bay. With a water resistance of over 656 feet, the Pro Diver surprisingly embraces the countless gazes directed towards it because of its detail and elegance. The beauty and precision of the Pro Diver make it ideal at a black tie event, while fostering the spirit of the adventurer. Every detail of this watch, from the Sapphire Crystal to the Superluminova markers, have been added, reviewed and improved for the sole purpose of creating an affordable and precise luxury sport timepiece.
